About the role
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic programs to enhance the functional abilities and quality of life of our clients. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support individuals in achieving their personal, social, and vocational goals. Clients will be from NDIS, CHSP and private sources.
The role will be required to undertake a range of tasks including but not limited to the following:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients physical, cognitive, and functional abilities.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans aimed at improving clients daily living skills and overall independence.
- Utilise evidence-based practices to address a variety of conditions such as neurological disorders, musculoskeletal issues, developmental delays, and chronic illnesses.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on capacity building, skill development, adaptive techniques, and rehabilitation.
- Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and interdisciplinary team discussions.
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Selection Criteria
- Bachelors and/or masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Previous experience in occupational therapy preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations and a variety of conditions.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment and intervention for physical, cognitive, and functional conditions.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a Criminal Record Check (CRC) issued within the last 12 months that includes working with vulnerable groups
- A valid NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) to be obtained and maintained at your own expense
