Occupational Therapist: Grade 2 (or experienced Grade 1)

This role is primarily based in our specialist community NDIS service, supporting participants with progressive neurological conditions, including Motor Neurone Disease and Huntingtons Disease, as well as occasionally working with individuals with Muscular Dystrophy and Parkinsonian Syndromes. Depending on your skills and the teams needs, you may also provide cover across our other departments, including our Outpatient Statewide Progressive Neurological Disease Service and Inpatient ward.

About Calvary Health Care Bethlehem Calvary Kooyong Precinct (Caulfield South)
Calvary Health Care Bethlehem (CHCB) is a public health care facility providing a range of inpatient, community and ambulatory services for palliative care and progressive neurological conditions. CHCB is a registered NDIS service provider.
Your main duties will include:
- Work available from late February
- Advanced palliative care Occupational Therapy skills and expertise
- Hybrid model – come into the office (Caulfield South) and work from home
- Home-based and inpatient clinical service provision
- Provide support and advice to members of the OT team and other internal and external stakeholders
- Responding to and triaging referrals
- Monitoring service activity and statistics
- Providing leadership in palliative care Occupational Therapy through evidence-based practice
- Identifying service improvement needs, and leading service development with the OT and CPCS team
- Managing clinical load and non-clinical role requirements
- Clinical supervision will be provided by an experienced Occupational Therapist and professional development opportunities are available within the Occupational Therapy and wider multidisciplinary team.
About you
- You are an OT a passion for providing quality palliative care and you have established skills and expertise in this field
- You have some experience or interest in developing skills in progressive neurological OT
- You have outstanding communication skills
- You are an emerging or established leader
- You are self-directed, organised, enjoy a balance of team and autonomous tasks
- You are reflective in your clinical practice
- You are a person-centred, creative and flexible therapist who is able to work with dignity of risk and respect for individual choice and control
- You have some knowledge in navigating the interface of palliative care, health and disability to support patients and team members with coordination of care
- AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist
- NDIS Worker Screening Check & Drivers Licence
