Mine Systems Technician ICT

Join a friendly mining operation as a Mine Systems Technician, where you’ll join an existing OT team and play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the site’s operational technology (OT) and communications infrastructure. This is a site-based FIFO role (7:7 roster from Perth), ideal for a hands-on technician with deep experience in mining systems, networking, and in-vehicle technologies.

 What You’ll Be Doing

• Maintain and troubleshoot OT systems across the mine site, ensuring uptime and reliability
• Diagnose and resolve faults across digital radio, network, and fleet management systems
• Support and maintain microwave backhaul, wireless mesh (Cambium, Cisco), and solar-powered infrastructure
• Provide technical support for fleet systems (Leica GPS, Wenco), CCTV, and mobile trailer/skid deployments
• Collaborate with your back-to-back to ensure seamless handovers and consistent documentation
• Contribute to system upgrades and support the broader ICT/OT roadmap

Technologies You’ll Work With

• Tait DMR digital radio systems (advanced knowledge highly regarded)
• Cambium & Cisco wireless mesh networks
• Microwave point-to-point backhaul systems
• Fleet systems: Wencomine, Leica GPS
• Cisco switching & networking
• Solar-powered skids, trailers, and CCTV setups

What You Bring

• Telecommunications or electronics certification
• ACMA Open Cabling Registration
• Valid First Aid and C Class Drivers Licence
• HRWL EWP, Dogging (desirable but not essential)
• Proven experience supporting OT and comms infrastructure in mining or heavy industry
• Ability to interpret schematics and follow technical documentation
• Familiarity with Windows-based IT systems and core networking principles
• Ability to work in a collaborative, busy team and act autonomously
