About the role
We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to support the headspace Liverpool team in providing care services for young people.
This role is based at headspace Liverpool. This is a full-time, fixed term opportunity currently available until 30 June , with the potential for extension based on continued funding. We encourage you to reach out with any queries you have about headspace funding. Full time employees have the option to enjoy a Rostered Day Off each month.
The Enhanced Services Program for Young People is a service stream of headspace and provides youth friendly, strengths-focused support to young people with, or at risk of, developing a serious mental illness that can significantly impact their day-to-day work, education, social and/or personal life. In conjunction with the headspace team, the Holistic Youth Program is designed to provide flexible, medium-term mental health care at no cost. The program focuses on young people who would benefit from a multidisciplinary or team-based approach with the goal of preventing the individual from having to access specialist mental health services and reducing long-term mental ill-health.
As a Mental Health Clinician you will;
- work collaboratively with young people and their family/carers to identify their support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans.
- provide high quality psycho-social assessment and evidence-based, focused psychological interventions
- work with peer workers to provide holistic, integrated services that support young people to achieve their recovery goals.
- work closely with other mental health clinicians employed at other sites to support excellence in program delivery.
We are looking for someone with:
- Current full AHPRA registration as a clinical psychologist, registered psychologist, mental health nurse, occupational therapist, or current accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker with the AASW (or working towards), current clinical registration as a PACFA Mental Health Practitioner, current level 3 or 4 membership with ACA.
- Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in mental health including confidence working with young people experiencing or at risk of complex mental health issues and/or substance use problems.
- Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, and provision of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies
- Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people and their family, friends or carers.

About us
Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace, Liverpool. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.
headspace Liverpool provides early intervention mental health services to young people aged who have or may be at risk of developing a mental health and/or substance use disorder or have economic and social recovery needs. It is a part of the Youth Mental Health Team within Grand Pacific Health (GPH).
The Enhanced Services Program for Young People is delivered by a consortium of providers in each headspace program and ReFrame service across South Western Sydney lead by GPH.
