Randstad are seeking immediate applications from available and suitable candidates for the role of a site based Mechanical Engineer within a leading mining and resources organisation. Due to a large growth phase currently underway and the commitment to major asset upgrades to improve performance on the project. You will provide effective technical expertise and engineering governance to a range of surface operations projects.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
- Give guidance to execution and engage discipline engineers and OEM specialists as required to minimize downtime duration
- Complete up front execution Project Works (PIAs, SORs etc.) & raise ERNs
- Perform quality checks for execution tasks as required
- Completion of Analysis & Improvement (A&I) scheduled work management tasks
- Assist in creation of scopes for repairable components
- Provide support in shutdowns, ICAM investigations and Material Risk Reviews
The successful candidate will possess:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar Mining or Heavy Industry
- Excellent computing skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly technical and detailed
- Energetic with a positive, can-do attitude
Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role and preference will be given to those with mining experience.
