Reporting to our Technology Supervisors, as a Machine Control Guidance Technician, youll be at the forefront of installing and supporting cutting-edge MineStar Technology products. This role offers a chance to immerse yourself in various Caterpillar MineStar solutions, providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients. As part of WesTrac, youll contribute to our commitment to customer satisfaction, foster relationship development, and drive dealership growth.

This role would suit a professional with a qualification in Certificate III Automotive Technician, Heavy Diesel, Communications Electronic, or Electrotechnology; however, this is not essential. We will also consider candidates with transferable skills and a strong can-do attitude, a willingness to learn, and a desire to grow!

Successful candidates will receive industry leading comprehensive on-the-job and technical training. Once competencies are achieved, you’ll have the opportunity to explore various roster options and regional locations tailored to operational needs.

Roster: Various rotations, including 4/3, 5/2, 8/6, and 7/7

Location: Perth Airport (Technology Department – Anderson Place)

To be successful the following is required: 

  • A positive can-do attitude, eagerness to learn, and a desire to grow.
  • A C Class manual drivers license.
  • Strong teamwork skills are essential.
  • Perform hardware electrical and mechanical installations, following technical and safety documentation.
  • Ability to Problem solve, fault find and troubleshoot.
  • Proficiency in both technical and administrative documentation.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to build and maintain successful working relationships.

Desirable but not essential:  

  • Certificate III in Automotive Technician, Heavy Diesel, Communications Electronic, Electrotechnology or equivalent
  • Ability to perform hardware electrical and mechanical installations.
