The Role:

 

Our Gatton transport depot is looking for an experienced MC Driver for our new Goondiwindi changeover run.

 

Linehaul drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of customer goods from one location to another. This role demands a high level of skill, with expertise and experience in operating a commercial heavy vehicle with a gross vehicle mass of over 4.5 tonne.

 

We are offering a casual role with the view to move to permanent. Working up to 5 days a week, with an afternoon start; this run offers a good view on the road and a good work / life balance.

 

Duties you can expect with this role include: 

  • Working with temperature sensitive freight
  • Ensuring the safe and timely handling of company freight
  • Completing relevant pre-start checklists, safety documentation and delivery paperwork
  • Interacting with clients in a professional manner
  • Working closely with Depot teams for the loading, unloading and transportation of freight.
  • Operating prime movers in the configuration of B-doubles
  • Completing essential safety documentation such as pre-start checklists

About you:

 

To succeed in this role, we anticipate you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Have a current & valid MC licence as a minimum
  • Experience driving B-doubles
  • Knowledge of paperwork associated with freight delivery and familiarity using internal cab data systems.
  • Basic Fatigue Management accreditation (well respected but not essential)
  • Have a commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Have a strong customer focus with good communication skills.
  • Be well presented, professional and reliable

To be successful for this role applicants must;

  • Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test
  • Provide a current traffic print out
  • Be prepared to work across day & nights shifts,
  • Be flexible of start and finish times
