Griffith Sport is looking for an experienced Manager to oversee the Nathan Fitness Centre. The role is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of both the Nathan Fitness Centre, and the Logan Workout Room (Logan campus). The position will be suited to a self-driven worker with great initiative and highly developed organisational skills, and a passion for continuous improvement and refining efficiencies in processes.

Our ideal candidate will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual, willing to jump into all facets of the business. We’re looking for someone who provides excellent customer service, has exceptional communication skills, an eye for detail and a keen interest sport and recreation. Well-developed people management skills are vital to success in this role as is engaging with internal and external stakeholders. 

The role requires the Manager to be able to lead positively while juggling competing priorities and maintaining a calm and composed demeanour, supporting staff to do the same. 

About you
Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications (minimum Certificate IV in Fitness) with a minimum of 5 years industry experience. A relevant tertiary qualification combined with industry experience will be highly regarded
  • Current First Aid including CPR
  • Current, Positive Blue Card
  • Current Driver’s Licence

To be successful in the role, you will have: 

  • Experience using membership and venue management software.
  • Highly developed communication, organisation and administrative skills.
  • Experience in managing risk and health and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated people management skills.
  • Be highly self-motivated, be able to demonstrate initiative, discretion and judgement to perform duties independently and manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.
  • Previous experience in student-based services, preferably in a tertiary environment.

This is a continuing, full-time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 5 range $77,761 – $87,235 per annum 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $90,981 – $102,065 per annum.
