About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead the newly established Afternoon Shift in our busy Cairns Steel Centre, responsible for the day-to-day distribution and logistics operations. Working in collaboration with the Day shift Supervisor and Operations Manager you will be hands on and oversee the efficient and safe picking and loading of orders to ensure trucks are ready to depart on time in the mornings.

Lead the afternoon shift distribution operations in our Cairns Steel Centre

Up to $40 – $41 per hour (including shift allowances) with paid overtime available

Shift Hours: 3pm 11pm 

As a people and safety-centric leader, with a continuous improvement and innovative mindset, you will develop and lead a highly capable team and drive best practice.

To be successful, you will demonstrate experience in:

  • Championing a strong safety culture
  • Leading a team in a logistics, warehouse or manufacturing distribution environment
  • Implementing a high-performance culture in operations
  • Have a valid C Australian drivers license or equivalent

A current Forklift ticket is preferred for this position.
