Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and development of the subtransmission (66kV) network.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of network constraints and develop augmentation or support options.
  • Deliver power system studies using simulation tools and provide technical advice.
  • Prepare long-term network development plans and economic cases.
  • Specify network development expenditure for asset management and regulatory submissions.
  • Lead Regulatory Investment Tests and Electricity Distribution Price Reset proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with National Electricity Rules and Victorian Distribution Code.
  • Maintain bushfire safety compliance through REFCL planning and implementation.
  • Model network performance and produce planning and external reports.
  • Forecast demand, fault levels, and distribution loss factors.
  • Provide technical direction for connections, outages, contingencies, and emergencies.
  • Liaise with AEMO, AER, councils, developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate embedded generation and major load connection proposals.
  • Support non-network solutions to reduce demand and defer investment.
  • Simplify complex engineering analysis for operational teams.
  • Promote continuous improvement in planning processes and systems.
  • Assist with major unplanned event investigations and strategic risk management.
