Byrnecut is actively seeking a Lawyer (legal counsel) to join our corporate office at Perth Airport for a 6-month fixed term contract. If you’re an experienced lawyer seeking a new and dynamic challenge, apply now!

Responsibilities / Duties:

• Providing researched, timely, commercial and accurate legal advice on a wide range of commercial and employment matters.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, including preparing contract departures.
• Advising senior managers on legal matters to effectively minimise the legal risks and exposures of the company.
• Providing advice on a range of litigation including commercial and employment disputes in a range of jurisdictions.
• Managing insurance claims relating to workers comp and personal injury.
• Coaching and advising senior leaders on their responsibilities in relation to legal compliance.
• Managing compliance and reporting obligations in Australia and overseas (i.e. Workplace Gender and Modern Slavery reporting).
• Managing company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Hold a current Practising Certificate or eligible to obtain a practising certificate.
• Demonstrable broad corporate legal experience in a highly respected corporation or equivalent experience in a private law firm on behalf of large corporate commercial clients.
• Collaborative, open, credible and engaging demeanour.
• High level of personal impact displays confidence and can inspire trust.
• Confidence in dealing with colleagues across all levels and functions of the business.
• Superior written and oral communications skills.
• An undergraduate Law Degree and be admitted to legal practice in Western Australia with demonstrated PQE.
• Experience in advising on general litigation and employment relations is preferred but not essential.
