Schedule: Various Shifts between 10am to 1.30am, Monday to Friday and participate in a Saturday and Public Holiday roster,as required

Hourly rate range: $25-$ depending on experience (not including relevant penalty rates,allowances,loading etc)

About the role 

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Routine receipting and processing of specimens; including operation and maintenance of analysers
  • Pre and post analytical specimen handling
  • Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens
  • Filing and storage of specimens and data entry
  • Assisting Scientists in the Labas required
  • Staying up to date with processing updates
  • Respond to result, sample requirements and general queries
  • Identifying and resolving problems at the pre-analytic stage

About you 

To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:

  • A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
  • Must be a cohesive and contributing member of the team and display positive attitudes towards achieving outcomes
  • Strong time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety and quality assurance processes and procedures
  • Previous Laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology would be desirable, but not essential
