Reporting into the Key Account Manager Team Leader, the Key Account Manager – Neonatal & Hospital Wide Monitoring (“KAM”) will be based in Melbourne, enjoy flexibility, and have the option of hybrid working. The KAM is to play a crucial role in managing key accounts and sales in VIC, SA, and TAS, ensuring optimal representation to drive ongoing business success and delivery of sales targets. Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and grow key accounts in VIC, SA, and TAS;
- Promote relevant and current technical and clinical knowledge to doctors, nurses, and medical staff;
- Devise and apply market relevant and competitive strategies for optimal sales results;
- Build and nurture strong customer relationships through planned contact with buying influences in key accounts;
- Apply innovative selling techniques to identify and meet customer needs through tailored solutions;
- Provide clinical differentiation to the user that will positively influence the purchasing decision;
- Deliver optimal and timely offers, quotes, and strategic discounts that present value to customers;
- Actively present, demonstrate and trial products as part of the overall selling process as required;
- Collaborative effectively with all internal (team, cross-functional) and external stakeholders;
- Develop and analyse sales performance metrics to drive continuous improvement;
- Apply a compliance focused mindset across all operations, and;
- Always ensure a safety-first approach.
The ideal candidate will be equipped with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field;
- 3 years’ experience selling capital medical equipment;
- High degree of comprehensive clinical expertise and technical knowledge in the relevant business area;
- Knowledge of hospital / healthcare group purchasing practices and current / future trends in the medical device field;
- Strong track record in developing key relationships in accounts in consultancy capacity, independent of the sales process;
- Well versed with planning and prioritising sales and territory management activities;
- Understanding of commercial business practices, including terms and conditions;
- Competency in financial calculations for pricing, quoting, and discounting;
- Ability to assess and evaluate educational needs, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate outcomes, to achieve learning objectives;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools;
- Adaptability and readiness to handle multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn;
- Exemplary understanding of compliance rules, with a proactive mindset and the ability to act as a role model in upholding and promoting compliance standards, and;
- Excellent selling / proposing, presentation, negotiation, influencing, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
A Working With Children’s Check will be required for this position.
