THE ROLE


Applications are sought from experienced Injury Management and Prevention Coordinator to join the team at Ora Banda.

This role will be based on site, on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Liaise with leaders to ensure timely and appropriate injury management processes are implemented.
  • Act as the liaison between the Company, the injured employee, insurers and medical professionals, including attending allied health appointments as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and confidential records are maintained including injury reports, case files and RTW plans.
  • Champion the implementation, training and use of the INX Advanced Injury Management System or any other injury management system or process used by OBM.
  • Develop proactive and early intervention strategies to reduce severity and duration of injury-related absences
  • Champion the development and implementation of Psychosocial and Mental Health and Wellbeing Initiatives across OBM operations.
  • Keep informed and up to date with relevant legislation, policies and best practice, ensuring OBM maintains compliance.
  • Monitor and report on injury trends, RTW outcomes and insurer performance.
  • Complete procedure reviews and maintain compliant systems as needed to ensure the effective integration between the mobilisation, fitness for work and injury management processes.
  • Develop Injury Management and Prevention training packages and awareness material to keep company personnel informed and educated.
  • Deliver on site health activities such as respiratory and hearing fit testing.
  • Assist Emergency Services Officer/s with incidents and injuries where qualified and required.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:  

  • Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology or a related discipline.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a similar role, within the resources sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in WorkCover claims management, Injury Management and Return to Work.
  • Experience with occupational rehabilitation and return to work outcomes is highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of legislation relevant to the position functions.
  • Advanced First Aid Certification.
  • Valid Manual drivers licence.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in the operation of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain positive when plans are challenged.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
