Industrial HVAC Technician

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced HVAC Technician with industrial experience, to ensure the HVAC systems in plant and associated buildings are maintained in line with equipment strategies and manufacturers recommendations at the Lytton Refinery in Brisbane.

The Role 

This is an exciting opportunity for a HVAC Technician with proven record in equipment maintenance preferably in heavy industrial facilities or refinery, troubleshooting and repair, and great attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. 

Be a vital part of a team that produces and distributes petroleum and oil lubricants in the energy sector within Brisbane, the greater Queensland region and Australia.

For 10 years, Wood has held a Maintenance contract at the Lytton Refinery in Brisbane, Australia and have been heavily imbedded into the Ampol culture with a strong focus on team alignment across the contracting teams. 

Our team of engineers, planners, supervisors, team leads, quality control, contract management, mechanical and electrical technicians, logistics, payroll, site administration, project management and human resourcing are committed in producing and distributing petroleum and fuel safely and efficiently to customers and stakeholders.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in HVAC (domestic and predominantly industrial)
  • Recommending and overseeing plant site work execution and preparation to ensure flawless implementation/maintenance
  • Manage inventory for all HVAC systems
  • Local housekeeping, including waste management
  • Fully competent knowledge of HVAC principles, along with multi-manufacturer and types of HVAC systems
  • Experience managing onsite sub-contractors where required to execute work.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Electrical license, A Grade
  • Cert III Refrigeration / Air Conditioning and Electrotechnology or equivalent trade qualification
  • Full Refrigerant Handling License
  • Existing EWP, Working at Heights and Confined Space accreditation preferred
  • SAP experience considered favourably
  • Valid Drivers License.
