About the opportunity

The Human Resources team is looking for a self-driven HR Consultant to join their high performing team. In your new role, you will provide operational HR advice and support to leaders and managers while managing the implementation of HR policies, tools, and programs. You will work on HR challenges by developing bespoke solutions, support the realisation of strategic HR initiatives, and champion improvements in HR practices.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide timely and pragmatic HR advice to leaders and managers, seeking specialist insights as needed
  • implement and manage HR policies, tools, and programs, ensuring efficient collaboration with HR teams
  • investigate HR issues, design tailored solutions, and support managers in solution execution
  • assist in operationalising HR strategic initiatives, addressing retention challenges, and advocating for improvements in HR policies and practices
  • promote awareness of Work Health & Safety and Workers Compensation responsibilities, advocating for a proactive approach, and ensuring alignment with HR policies and practices
  • provide leaders and managers with timely and relevant HR metrics and data insights to guide decision-making
  • foster open communication and collaboration within the team, addressing stakeholder queries and concerns in a timely manner, while building trust within immediate work networks
  • oversee report compilation to meet established standards, proactively identify compliance improvements, and collaborate with the team to rectify discrepancies
  • coordinate purchasing processes and resolve any discrepancies in payment schedules
  • follow established health and safety guidelines, promptly report any hazards, and ensure personal workspace is maintained in a safe and orderly manner
  • undertake other duties and manage small projects appropriate within the classification level as required.

About you

  • strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • excellent interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, including effective management of stakeholder relationships, commitment to ensure service excellence
  • demonstrated experience in prioritising your own and your team workload to meet competing and ad hoc demands.
