Job Title: HSE Coordinator
Visyis powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing, and recycling. Over 75 years, we’ve grown to 7,000 employees and 150 global operations predominately in Australia and New Zealand.
Webelieve materials are not recycled until theyve been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, and metals from households and businesses, and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging. From cardboard boxes, water bottles, and jam jars to food and beverage cans, we are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealands food and beverage packaging industry.
Role Details:
The purpose of the HSE Coordinator role is to support the Visy Board business in the effective management, implementation and administration of HSE systems within Queensland, ensuring the Visy Board business meets the required Health, Safety and Environmental standards. Reporting to the State Operations Manager, QLD this role based full-time across our sites in Hemmant, Yatala and Carole Park.
What you’ll do:
- Promote and drive the VISY safety culture, values and expected behavior
- Communicate safety targets with the operations team and ensure they are being met
- Assist area supervisors and managers in identifying priorities for Risk Assessments and Job Hazard Analysis
- Ensure Injuries and incidents are investigated and corrective actions implemented
- Coordinate WHS-related training for relevant staff
- Partner with Site Managers and front-line Supervisors in day-to-day risk management activities, including the identification and implementation of effective controls
What you will bring:
- Safety compliance experience
- Working knowledge of OH&S and Chain of Responsibility Legislation
- Proficient Computer Skills
- Minimum of BSB – Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be an added advantage
- Effective stakeholder engagement, advocacy and relationship building to create mutual advantage
