PLI, formerly Powerlift Industries is a Pilbara based, leading service provider in the mining and resource industries.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and proactive team player to join our busy and growing team in Perth reporting to the Human Resource Manager. The position will work cohesively with our Management and Operational teams to efficiently coordinate the associated logistics of sourcing and mobilising our people across multiple contracts, sites and projects as well as provide generalist HR Coordination services. Responsible for providing assistance with Recruitment, Mobilisation, Training and Development and Compliance.

This position will suit a highly motivated professional with an exceptional attention to detail who takes pride in their work and likes to work in a busy team environment.

The HR Coordinator is responsible to ensure:

  • Prepare with job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and coordinating pre-employment checks
  • Actively support the recruitment and selection process end to end
  • Onboarding and mobilisation for new employees including managing the completion of compliance and verifications checks
  • Facilitating a positive onboarding experience for all employees
  • Schedule and manage pre-employment medicals, including drug and alcohol testing
  • Organise pre-mobilisation training and ensure all compliance requirements are met
  • Manage mobilisation needs, including uniforms and general PPE requirements
  • Book internal and external inductions and training as required
  • Track employee participation in training and ensure completion of mandatory programs
  • Maximise the use of our internal systems and data bases to ensure effective use of our exiting labour pool
  • Identify labour short falls and supporting the recruitment of new personnel
  • Update and maintain HR databases and Systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records
  • Provide first-level HR advice on policies, procedures, awards, and agreements
  • Assist with employee relations, performance management, and compliance matters
  • Assist in payroll processing by providing timely updates on employee status changes (New hires, terminations, etc).
  • Other administrative tasks as designated by the Human Resources Manager.

Skills, experience;

  • Tertiary qualifications related to human resource management/industrial relations (highly regarded for this role)
  • Previous experience in the mining and resource industry (highly desirable)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an HR and recruitment role (highly desirable)
  • Familiarisation with blue collar trades and relevant industry experience (highly desirable)
  • Prior site mobilisation and recruitment experience
  • High level of proficiency with recruitment and onboarding systems, process and technology
  • Has a solid understanding of awards, agreements, and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Is a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Can manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced setting
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality, and
  • Brings a proactive, can-do attitude and solution-focused approach

Other

  • In addition to the responsibilities described above, the job holder will be required to carry out any other duties in line with their experience, knowledge and ability as assigned.
  • Monday to Friday role, 8am – 5pm
