Public Sector People (PSP) have partnered with a council in the western suburbs and would like to offer you the opportunity to join the Legal, Governance and Risk team as a Freedom of Information (FOI) and Legal Support Officer for a 5-week period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process FOI requests
- Assess the requests in terms of the requirements contained in the FOI Act including: – Preparing clarification letters to applicants to ensure the request complies with the Act. – Requesting documentation from Council departments and assisting departments to understand the terms and requirements of the request.
- Promoting awareness and understanding of FOI regulations within the organisation.
Key Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in processing FOI requests.
- Strong understanding of FOI legislation and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
