In this versatile role you’ll drive our fleet maintenance strategy, take the helm in strategic planning, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Develop your leadership skills as you oversee the workshop teams in our Dubbo and Wellington workshops, coordinating maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime. You’ll champion compliance with safety, regulatory and operational standards while collaborating and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll find growth through:

  • Coordinating all aspects of the fleet maintenance program throughout the entire lifecycle of Council’s plant, vehicle and equipment fleet
  • Efficiently coordinating maintenance teams and workloads across both workshops to meet service delivery requirements in order to achieve a high-quality customer service
  • Monitoring and developing workshop KPIs to ensure target achievement and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage and maintain Council’s fleet telematics system
  • Assisting Manager Fleet and Depot Services with the development of Fleet budgets and estimates for projects and monitoring financial performance
  • Communicating and liaising with customers, Manager Fleet and Depot Services and service providers, to ensure work is carried out efficiently and to requirements and expectations

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Diploma in Business Management or experience commensurate to the qualification
  • Experience in the management of mechanical workshops
  • Mechanical / Engineering qualification
  • Moderate computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Demonstrated experience in organising and managing conflicting work priorities

We would also love you to have:

  • IPWEA Fleet Management Certificate
  • Experience in managing telematics systems
  • Experience in data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $101,700 to $118,192. A leaseback vehicle is also available.
