Finance Manager

Finance Manager, London, Apparel & Fashion, Paying 60,000 – 70,000 (12 Month FTC)
We are working exclusively with a well loved, high growth consumer brand who are looking for a Finance Manager to join their team. 
Reporting into working alongside the CFO, you will play an integral part in the finance function. Leading on all day to day finance with responsibility for one junior member of staff, this is a great opportunity to grow and develop a finance function alongside getting stuck into a high-growth, start-up environment.
 
Must come from a Consumer/Retail background, with a short notice period or immediately available. 
 
Responsibilities:

  • Review and Preparation of monthly management accounts month end close procedure, (accrual/prepayments) preparation of reporting data, investigation of variances.
  • Ensure processes are accurate and automated (where possible) as well as design and implementation of new processes as operations evolve.
  • Perform reconciliations from the general ledger to the management accounts
  • Foreign exchange complexity This adds additional challenge to simple situations, such as VAT returns, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Lead on all VAT quarterly return submissions
  • Lead on preparation of annual statutory accounts, the year end audit and year-end statutory tax package
  • Review payment runs from the Accounts Assistant
  • Oversee AP/AR processes
  • Be the first POC for any sales/purchase queries
  • Stock reconciliation and sales analysis work to be done alongside the FC.
  • Ensuring clear, consistent, and effective communication is delivered to the team to provide clear direction and a vision
  • Effective time-management to ensure maximum performance and consistent operational delivery is achieved
  • Assist with the preparation of ad-hoc requests from various stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • A fully qualified Accountant (ACA,CIMA,ACCA)
  • Experience in a similar role with good financial management reporting, variance analysis and balance sheets reconciliations.
  • Previous experience in a Commerce / Retail Sector a must
  • Knowledge of reporting standards, you will become a champion internally
  • Previous exposure to VAT & year-end audit processes.
  • Immediately Available or Short Notice Period a must.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical way of working.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
