Our client
Our client is the largest producer of human-grade specialised liquid wax from vegetable seeds in Australia. This product shares the same molecular structure as the natural wax esters in healthy human skin and is marketed as a high-grade natural cosmetic oil. The vegetable beans and other mixed crops are grown on a farm of about 1,000 acres near Griffith in New South Wales.
  
Role
Reporting directly to an off-site CEO, this role is responsible for all day-to-day operations across the farm. The company holds significant water rights and irrigates a substantial amount, which will be increased in the future. Considerable expansion of existing orchards will be phased over the next 5 years. You will be leading and managing this ongoing development.
  
Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the operations of the total farm, ensuring that crops are grown in the most efficient manner
  • Development and production of the trees to the oil being delivered to the companys warehouse in Sydney
  • Recruitment and training of new staff members
  • Lead and manage a team of staff and contractors to ensure work is conducted per required standards
  • Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Provide reports and analysis of operations and activities to management and work with management to develop strategies and long-term plans and inform decision-making

Requirements

  • Farm management experience, specifically with some drip irrigation and tree crops
  • Preferably horticultural experience
  • Preferably a tertiary qualification in an agriculture/science discipline
  • Current drivers license
  • History of stable employment

Remuneration & Location

A very attractive remuneration package is offered for this senior role within the business. The farm is located 5km from Yenda in the Riverina, 30 minutes from Griffith
