About the Business

With a history of over 160 years in the Australian and New Zealand sugar industries, Wilmar Sugar Australia operations span the value chain from sugar cane growing, sugar manufacturing, refining, exporting, and marketing, to the production of renewable electricity, ethanol and sustainable agricultural products.

To be more specific, Wilmar manufactures over half of Australia’s raw sugar, and each year exports enough electricity to power more than 68,000 Australian homes for 12 months.  As well as supplying ethanol (ethyl alcohol) to the growing fuel market in Australia, Wilmar also supplies a significant market share to various industries including the pharmaceutical, printing, cleaning, winery, aerosol, animal health and food and beverage industries.

About the Role

We are currently seeking applications for multiple trade positions located in the Herbert Region at either Victoria or Macknade Mill in the township of Ingham. These fixed term positions are a day work position with overtime and some weekend work required. 

We are seeking individuals with the requisite competencies, experience, and qualifications, notably a Certificate III in Engineering specialising in Fabrication, Mechanical or Diesel Fitting. Become part of our dynamic team engaging in fabricating equipment, with in house installations ranging from pans and evaporators to locomotives for sugar cane transport at our mills. 

The opportunity

Candidates should demonstrate a proven history of outstanding performance, self-motivation, and punctuality. Strong communication skills are essential for providing regular and accurate feedback on work status. 

While the following may be requirements in this role, we are prepared to provide training to people who possess the right aptitude.
