Electrical Reliability & Control Engineer

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Electrical Reliability & Control Engineer to join our Gladstone operations team and Australias largest integrated cement plant. The major assets at the site include a 1.7 million tonne per year capacity clinker kiln, a quick lime kiln, two cement mills and significant material handling equipment including stacking, reclaiming, product packaging, road and rail dispatch and bulk ship-loading. 

Reporting to the Electrical Services Manager, your focus will be asset management and control systems, as well as supporting the sites East End mine. You will split your time between improvement initiatives, outage planning, efficiency improvements, and ensuring reliability of the assets on site.  You will spend equal time in and out of the office and working closely with the site maintenance and engineering teams to ensure we minimise downtime and maximise utilisation of our manufacturing equipment.  

About the role:

As our Electrical Reliability & Control Engineer, you will:

  • Be closely involved with all electrical and automation systems maintenance and rectification
  • Collaborate across all teams onsite – production, engineering, maintenance, processing
  • Making a positive contribution to the SHE culture and performance of the site
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, challenging the status quo and generating ideas to improve plant, process and people performance
  • Provide clear communication between all key stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Support the preventative and reactive function of our major site assets
  • Liaising with OEMs, procurement and other head office functions

About you:

  • Degree qualified in electrical engineering
  • Extensive maintenance experience in manufacturing or mining / heavy industry
  • Strong leadership experience
  • Experience in HV, LV and distributed control systems
  • Strong safety focus and the ability to influence a positive safety culture
  • Excellent investigative skills
  • A self-motivated and confident nature with an action-oriented mindset
  • Proficient with computerised maintenance management systems (SAP) and other programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Effective written and interpersonal skills
