About the role
Viterra is seeking a UniSA student currently who has completed their second year of their electrical engineering degree to join us and put theory into practice.
Duties
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Hazardous Area Dossier
Assist in the preparation of our sites Hazardous Area Dossier more specifically in relation to Combustible Dust. This will require:
- Research and review of Australian Standards pertaining to combustible dust and,
- Field visits to operational sites to review current practices.
- Cathodic Protection System
Investigate how to integrate a bespoke Cathodic Protection System for a jetty structure into existing control systems to ensuring accurate communication of data. This will require:
- A degree of electrical / instrumentation design to interpret existing system to make it communicate.
- Work with site electricians to implement the agreed solution and to commission the outputs.
- Work with a Viterra automation person to integrate the data to a control system
- Literature search of cathodic protection of marine structures and interpretation of data produced and,
- Field visit(s) to Port Adelaide Terminal site.
- Interfacing Real Time Kinematics (RTK) GPS with existing control systems
Assist in research activity. Dependent on available time after completion of 1. and 2. above. Field visit(s) to Terminal site(s).
