About The Role Our Deputies support our Underground Mining Operations by providing leadership and direction to our vital underground shift crews in all planned mining activities. This important role is based in Narrabri NSW. We currently have positions available across multiple rosters – dependent on availability at site during time of recruitment. In addition, we are offering paid flights to site from either Newcastle or Wollongong for our 7/7 roster only. DIDO options or relocation packages to the region are available to discuss. What You’ll Do Facilitate crew/shift communications including Toolbox Talks/Pre-start meetings Mentor, train and assess employees on various types of mining equipment Motivate teams to achieve agreed production targets Ensure that maintenance schedules are completed in accordance with statutory, and site regulations Ensuring all crews are aware of, and are following, HSEC policies and procedures What You’ll Bring Minimum 5 years’ experience in Underground Longwall Mining Deputies certificate of competency Cert IV Underground Coal Mining Cert IV OH&S Workplace Safety (desirable) Ability to motivate yourself and others to meet production targets whilst maintaining positive team culture Why Whitehaven Coal?
