About the opportunity

Westgold Resources are sourcing a detailed oriented, highly organised Tenement/Compliance Officer to join our Legal & Compliance team in the Perth Head Office on a full time 12 month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Westgold Compliance Team.

As an integral member of the team, the Tenements/Compliance Officer will be responsible for managing incoming correspondence and operating systems and processes to promote, track and report Westgold’s compliance with its statutory, regulatory and commercial obligations.

The role includes

  • Assisting with the management of Westgold’s mining tenure and infrastructure related licenses to ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Operating systems and processes to track and report compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Promoting compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations (tenement conditions)
  • Collaborating and building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across a number of different business units.
  • Coordinating team meetings and providing input, and educating stakeholders on the importance of the team’s functionality to mitigate critical risk

What do you need?

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current legislative and regulatory regimes affecting the management of mining tenure in Western Australia.
  • Strong advocacy for compliance with internal processes and procedures.
  • Ability to organise and manage completion of tasks.
  • Ability to coordinate and carry out activities in accordance with established processes and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organise, prioritise and keep track of tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to collaborate and work with stakeholders across different business units.
