Job Description Summary

As the Communications Technician at Service Stream, you will form part of the Field Delivery Team and act as an individual contributor at times. You will be primarily responsible for building, maintaining and decommissioning Telecommunication networks, including but not limited to Optus, Uecomm, NBN, Telstra, TPG, Telco Authorities and Power Utility.

Nature of Position:              Permanent, Full Time
Location:                               Ferntree Gully, Victoria
Reporting Line:                    State Field Delivery Manager
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Work onsite/in field as part of one or multiple crews daily
  • Willing and able to be part of a rostered-On Call Availability, including working outside normal working hours on a regular basis.
  • Willing and able to work away from home from time to time
  • Communicate/report on scheduled works changes or to Field Supervisor.
  • Participate of actual site start up (i.e., mandatory pre-start activities)

 
About You:

  • Hold a current Driver’s license
  • Construction OH&S Induction Card
  • Hold MR or higher Truck License
  • Experience in an Infrastructure Services environment
  • Experience in the Telecommunications industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to respond calmly and decisively during a major incident or emergency
  • Ability to work autonomously within teams
  • Experience working at heights
