Are you ready to play a pivotal role in advancing skin cancer research? Join us as a Clinical Research Nurse – Melanographer and contribute to ground-breaking studies within the ACRF Australian Centre of Excellence in Melanoma Imaging & Diagnosis (ACEMID). Based at the state-of-the-art Herston Imaging Research Facility (HIRF), you’ll be at the forefront of innovative research aimed at improving skin cancer detection and outcomes.
In this diverse and hands-on role, you will interact directly with study participants, performing digital skin imaging, clinical photography, and dermoscopy. From participant recruitment and eligibility checks to data collection and quality assurance, your contributions will ensure the seamless operation of our research clinic.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Recruit, screen, and consent study participants, schedule appointments, and perform total body photography, clinical photography, dermoscopy, and full skin examinations in accordance with study protocols.
- Coordinate clinical research projects, maintain accurate study documentation, and ensure quality assurance in data collection, storage, and reporting.
- Train and support staff in using imaging equipment, and collaborate effectively with research teams, clinicians, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Uphold ethical and safety standards by adhering to study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

About You
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, with demonstrated experience in a clinical research setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with study participants, research teams, and clinicians.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced research environment.
- High-level accuracy and attention to detail, with excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in using PC applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience with research databases such as REDCap.
- Willingness to develop skills in melanography and dermoscopy, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check, mandatory immunisations, Basic Life Support is desired, however, not mandatory.
