Centre of Excellence Lead role for Cards Modernisation sits within the Consumer Finance while also aligning with the Retail Technology team that covers our platform modernisation for retail and business cards across the CBA group. The CoE team collaborates with teams across the Group for these functions.
You will be leading the cards modernisation program that will replace the current cards platform with a more modern, flexible and easily scalable system.
You will be part of the Consumer Finance Technology Leadership team that is led by the General Manager, Technology Lead for Consumer Finance within the Retail Technology.
Do work that matters
You will lead a program team to deliver business outcomes and implement a new platform model consisting of separate strategic cards applications. You will support the Crew Lead and Crew Tech Lead to ensure alignment with the Group cards strategy. You will also raise the awareness of the cards modernisation program across the Group and ensure our frontline teams are equipped with the right information in discussing overall benefits with our clients. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of the new platform associated with credit cards, simple credit, debit and pre-paid cards. You will seek to optimise the way in which the delivery teams operate and increase the value we get from our vendors.
To be a successful candidate for this role, you need to demonstrate strong business acumen in the banking domain with a commercial mindset and strong stakeholder management, persuading an influencing at a senior exec level with a commitment towards contribution to the broader success of the Group.
More specifically you will
- Set the strategic direction for the CoE and align CoE value creation and business outcomes
- Lead a multi stream program of work that is involved in modernising the Cards Platform across CBA Group and enable the move from a monolithic to a micro services-based architecture, increased use of APIs and cloud-based hosting of platform
- Effectively manage relationships and communications with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives within the Group, frontline teams, clients, industry bodies, and program delivery squads.
- Maintain end-to-end oversight of the program and ensure issues / blockers are escalated to senior management without delay
- Track and manage project activities and deliverables to achieve agreed outcomes and identify and develop mitigation strategies to manage project interdependencies.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and third-party suppliers.
- Perform cross group engagement and manage governance across various stakeholders
- Liaise and coordinate with senior cross group stakeholders, crew leads, crew tech leads to logically sequence and schedule the program of work
- Coordinate Vendor Onboarding and operating model including management and contract /commercial negotiations
- Design and develop transition strategies for cut over
- Handle organisations change management and contribute to designing BAU operating model
- Manage delivery and delivered risk working with Risk, compliance and legal stakeholders
- Track financials and budget ensuring program is delivered within budget.
- Coordinate Architecture governance across the group.
- Require Strong negotiating, influencing, and conflict resolution skills
We want to hear from you if you have
- Program Management experience consisting of Agile teams with strong stakeholder management across exec leadership team.
- Leading large team or more across an organisational matrix – major projects or programs
- Knowledge and experience in using industry recognised delivery management and/or solution delivery methodologies, particularly agile techniques
- Experience working in a large and complex financial service, technology services or consulting environments.
- Delivery experience in the following areas is desirable: Cards, Financial services, service Orientated Architecture
