Our HQ is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands with our Australian region, boasting a fleet of over 30 vessels across multiple ports along the East Coast, where we pride ourselves on our safety culture, work ethic and commitment to the environment.  Due to rapid and ongoing expansion we are seeking expressions of interest from dynamic and experienced Tug Masters to join our growing team on a casual basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manoeuvre tugboats safely and efficiently during ship assist operations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-departure checks and ensure all equipment is in proper working order
  • Maintain constant communication with the Vessel Traffic Service (VTS), pilots, and other relevant parties
  • Execute towing, pushing, and escorting manoeuvres as required for various types of vessels
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations, including environmental and safety standards
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of deck crew during operations
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of all operations and incidents
  • Participate in regular safety drills and emergency response exercises
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust operations accordingly
  • Conduct regular inspections of the tug and its equipment, reporting any deficiencies promptly
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior crew members
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational procedures and safety practices

You will be part of a small team providing relief cover in the roster where required. This role demands a proactive approach, strong leadership skills, and the ability to make quick, sound decisions in dynamic maritime environments.

To be considered for this opportunity applicants will hold:

  • Minimum AMSA Master <45m NC or higher Certificate of Competency.
  • Valid AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness
  • Valid MSIC or eligible to apply
  • Strong problem solving, analysis and assessment skills
  • Experience in the use of onboard planned maintenance systems

These are casual positions.  To be successful you must live in the Brisbane area.
