What is the overall job?

We are expanding our team to include a Carbon Lead to specialise in whole life carbon assessments to support our teams across our portfolio of projects.

This role includes supporting working winning activities, PCSAs and live projects to meet their requirements and complete their deliverables.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide specialist support and advice, as well as working with the teams to help them complete their LCAs, Materials passports and other relevant documents. This will include.

  • Reviewing carbon assessments carried out by external design teams and working collaboratively with them throughout the projects.
  • Supporting work winning activities by completing relevant sections of tender returns and attending tender meetings with client teams
  • Working with the estimating team to ensure that quantification information is correct and aligned with the carbon assessments.
  • Working with internal teams and sustainability managers to check all LCA assessment and split the calculations into relevant packages for procurement. Ensure that the procurement documents are aligned with the carbon requirements.
  • Collaborating with and supporting the supply chain and material manufactures to ensure latest proposals and innovations are incorporated,
  • Presenting updates to client teams
  • Developing the internal approach to data collection
  • In collaboration with the sustainability managers complete as constructed carbon calculations

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Have in depth experience working on Life Cycle Assessment for major projects through all design stages (including completion)
  • Be a competent user of OneClick LCA software.
  • Have good presentation skills.
  • Have a good understanding of operational carbon, NABERS, TM54 etc.
  • Be familiar with all building systems (structures, facades, MEP, partitions etc.)
  • Have experience creating Material Passports
  • Have expert knowledge and experience with relevant guidance documents (RICS, NZC building standard etc.)
