Business Traineeship

Do you have a knack for computers, or are generally considered by others as a people-person? Are you perhaps in the retail field and want to break into Business Administration and build a foundation for your future business-orientated career but unsure how to go about it?

Undertaking this 12-month traineeship will give you the opportunity to complete your Certificate III in Business (BSB30120).

Your duties will include providing admin support to finance, recruitment and other departments as required. You will be assisting with drafting letters, documents, and policies, updating a training matrix, credit reconciliation, expense claims and filing invoices.

You will be hosted in the Brisbane CBD by Austrak who design, construct, commission, and operate their own sleeper manufacturing plants and are a part of the Vossloh Group, a global company that has over 100 years’ experience in rail technologies.

  • No HECS-HELP debt – in fact, most traineeships are fully funded by the Government. So, you will leave your 12 months with a qualification, no debt, and ready to work in an industry that is eager for more qualified tradespeople to join their ranks
  • We will actually pay you to learn! How many of your uni mates get paid to study?
  • Your own personal MIGAS mentor who will guide you through your apprenticeship
  • Potential to be selected for one of MIGAS’s annual MiScholarship awards, resulting in a combination of a cash prize and additional financial support
  • We are a culturally diverse employer and actively advocate for local Indigenous Australians and women in trade

We are looking for candidates who are bright, focused, eager to learn and develop new skills. If you also have a positive can-do attitude, are proactive, organised, and willing to ask questions we are wanting to talk to you.

Previous experience in administration or retail is useful but not essential however if you are looking to change careers from these industries Austrak is the ideal place to take the step into a business role.

  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good numeracy and computer skills
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, Drug & Alcohol and Police Check
  • COVID-19 vaccination certificate
