Wood is recruiting for a Business Development, Key Accounts Manager to join our Materials business supporting key accounts across our Mining and Chemicals client portfolio for the Oceania region.  A pivotal role within our Growth and Development team, you will build on established client relationships and drive growth in and beyond.  Based in Perth CBD, this is a permanent role and is available as a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.

Expected:

You will be able to work lawfully in Australia and hold full working rights for this location.

Ideally, you will be suitably qualified from a recognised institution and have built a successful career within the Minerals, Metals, Chemicals and Heavy Industry sectors in Western Australia.  You will also have relevant experience in leadership roles coupled with an understanding of major project lifecycle – from establishment to execution. 

You are a relationship builder with a career as diverse as it is deep.  You will have an established and broad reaching network across the Materials portfolio of Mining & Chemicals and have proven experience introducing innovative models / solutions that have delivered client value.    

In addition, you will: 

  • Be customer focused and a leader of people with several years of supervisory experience, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and trust to energise diverse teams to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood
  • Have a demonstrated understanding of customer needs and a consulting framework and able to translate those needs into effective strategies to deliver successfully and secure new work
  • Have excellent commercial acumen, with an ability to negotiate with clients to secure contractual frameworks that aligns with business strategy and client needs, requirements, delivering to long term partnership
  • Be an articulate communicator (both written and verbal) with an ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, including professional presentation skills
  • Have a solutions mindset with a capacity for persistence and resilience, while being able to consistently deliver within a complex environment
  • Have an ability to travel when required and a commitment to engaging with clients, prospective partners and representing Wood at industry events and forums

Desirable:

What will set you apart will be your proven experience in a similar Business Development role delivering value for tier one Mining operators.  Relevant exposure to major process plant and infrastructure project delivery will also be advantageous.
