Our team is growing! We are seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented Building Surveyor with a keen eye for detail and focus on continuous improvement. We are open to considering applications from fully qualified Building Surveyors or those studying toward their qualification.

Job Description
As a Building Surveyor in our team, you will play a key role in assessing and processing building and development applications, ensuring they meet all statutory requirements and align with Council policies. You will also provide clear, accurate, and professional guidance to customers, helping them navigate compliance requirements effectively.
Your dedication to continuous learning and improvement will contribute to delivering an efficient, customer-focused service. With your excellent communication skills and collaborative approach, you will build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering positive development outcomes that benefit our community.

- Base annual salary between $82,000 – $90,000 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:
- Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shires HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork
- Level 2 Building Surveying qualification or progress towards, and/or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of the applicable legislation such as Local Government Act , Building Regulations , Building Act , Building Code of Australia and related codes and standards
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional internal and external customer service
- Competent in MS Office (Word & Outlook)
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Relevant work experience in Local Government building or planning, and/or the building construction industry will be advantageous.
