Whats the Traineeship?

 

We have a great opportunity for a Trainee Belt Splicer to join our Team based in Beresfield or Muswellbrook.

 

As a Trainee, you will be developing your skills in conveyor belt maintenance, repairs, installation, general maintenance and replacement of conveyor components.

Your learning experience will be a combination of on-the-job, hands-on experience along with practical theory/classroom training, and on successful completion, you will obtain a Certificate III in Polymer Processing.

To be considered for the Traineeship, you:

  • Must have a strong safety focus;
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old;
  • Must hold a current Australian drivers licence;
  • Be willing to complete an aptitude testing as part of the Trainee recruitment process to demonstrate mechanical aptitude, sound communication and numerical skills;
  • Have the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces;
  • Have the ability to work with project/site operational requirements (which may see you working after hours, weekends and/or public holidays);
  • Have the ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.

 

If you have any of the below, would be highly desirable:

  • Previous work experience in construction, manufacturing or mining is preferred
  • Possess good mechanical aptitude, as well as sound communication and numerical skills
  • Possess either a Basic Riggers ticket, Forklift (LF), Basic Dogging ticket or Elevated Work Platform ticket (desirable but not essential)

 

The traineeship has multiple intakes throughout , and to be eligible, you must be able to commit to travel to WA for the duration of the course (8-weeks delivered in two 4-week blocks).
