About the role and team
We have a new and rare opportunity for an experienced litigation lawyer to join our growing Dispute Resolution section in Perth, working with a highly regarded team of leading Partners and lawyers.
Our Perth team is part of our national and well-established Dispute Resolution Section, with over 100 team members nationally working across all facets of commercial dispute resolution and litigation, including commercial and contractual disputes, banking and financial services litigation, intellectual property, insolvency, public sector, property and construction disputes, regulatory investigations and tax disputes. The successful candidate will be involved in a range of commercial litigation matters, including:
- advising on high level and complex commercial litigation matters;
- negotiation and alternative dispute resolution;
- drafting pleadings, preparation of evidence, and briefing and instructing counsel; and
- assisting with construction, resources and energy and oil and gas disputes; and
- assisting with insolvency and bankruptcy matters, contentious and non-contentious.
This is a fantastic hands-on commercial litigation role, with significant learning, development and progression opportunities, and the opportunity to work with interesting clients and complex matters.
About you
You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- between 4 and 7 years of post-admission experience in Australia is essential;
- previous experience in general commercial litigation, ideally from a large or medium sized law firm or a specialist litigation practice;
- additional experience in insolvency and/or construction litigation is not essential, however would be highly regarded;
- strong communication and drafting skills, with outstanding attention to detail;
- the ability to confidently run matters through dispute resolution processes; and
- the ability to handle busy workload with competing timelines.
