This is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract role

Your Team:

You will be part of Commonwealth Bank’s Business Banking (BB) which offers a wide range of services and solutions to our small to medium business, large enterprise customers, and regional and agribusiness customers.

The Business Banking Customer and Risk team is accountable for Domestic and International solutions, Merchants and Payments, Business Lending, Asset Finance, Digital and Customer Experience.

We are accountable for assisting Business product teams with managing their product risks. We do this by effectively identifying, understanding, managing and controlling risks in order to maintain Business Banking’s overall risk appetite.

The team you will be part of is accountable for customer remediation on Business Lending, Payments and Everyday Business Banking product incidents.

You will be responsible for managing and running Remediation Scrums, ensuring timely delivery by working with the Remediation scrum team and relevant stakeholders.

Overall, the Agile practitioners within the team are focused on supporting Business Bank with their agile transformation journey and embedding the Pace ways of working.

Your Impact:

You will be part of a dedicated Crew consisting of multiple squads where with other coaches you are expected to lead and develop a Crew-squad level coaching plan that drives continuous improvement, delivery maturity and maximises continuous flow of valuable outcomes through the squads in a sustainable manner aligning to agile principles and Group’s improved way of thinking, planning and working at CommBank known as PACE to help us achieve our NPS 30 customer goal.

Core Responsibilities

  • Apply techniques to support effective product backlog management within the Squad and ensure the effective use of tooling.
  • Increase squad effectiveness, by aiding the Squad to identify, raise and remove internal and external blockers that impede the squads progress and flow of work or velocity.
  • Support adherence to key agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand Up, Sprint Review and Retrospectives and Backlog Refinement.
  • Coach 4-5 scrums on delivery capability and delivery maturity to deliver high-value quality customer outcomes.
  • Coach and influence change to increase the flow of valuable outcomes through the squad.
  • Drive squad effectiveness and continuous improvement efforts by monitoring metrics including sprint burn down, release burn up and squad health.
  • Participate and provide support to the Agility Practice.
  • Creating a space for change through influencing and persuading others on the merits of the change journey
  • Coaching the Squad(s) and Crew/s in CBA’s Pace Ways of Working
  • Facilitates continuous improvement by leveraging learning’s and processes established within existing teams.
  • Embeds an inspect-and-adapt culture by helping establish metrics across the tribe. Coaches key stakeholders on how to use defined metrics as a diagnostic to identify improvement opportunities.

  • You are a Critical Thinker and a pragmatist when it comes to leading teams through complexity & Software Delivery phases and are capable to drive incremental agile mindset and practices improvements sustainably through ongoing training
  • Have a sound understanding of agile practices, principles and thinking
  • Have experience in coaching teams and programs across various initiatives
  • Knows when to appropriately switch between being a coach, mentor, teacher or facilitator
  • Be a strategic think and problem solver to achieve great outcomes
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Understanding of Agile values, principles and practices
  • A bias towards action and improvement, making decisions as they work and getting better every step of the way
  • A continuous learning mindset and an interest in developing it in those around you to nurture a culture of curiosity and innovation.
