About the Aquatic Centre:
The College Aquatic Centre is a state of the art, 10 lane Olympic sizes 2m deep pool with a purpose built indoor learn to swim pool. The Aquatic Centre situated on the Sunshine Coast, 20km south of Noosa. The centre will offer swimming lessons, squad programs, water polo and fitness classes to the school’s students and the wider community.
About the role:
Are you passionate about creating a high performing swim squad coaching program? Our Aquatic Centre is seeking a coach who will implement, lead and develop a program of the highest calibre. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring that every visitor enjoys a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience. You’ll uphold the standards set forth and contribute to a positive team environment.
What You’ll Do
- Develop training progressions and plans under philosophical and methodological direction of Head Coach in line with College’s teaching and learning standards and expectations.
- Develop a seasonal plan and competition schedule to prepare swimmers for Regional and State level competitions under the guidance of Head Coach and in line with College’s teaching and learning standards and expectations.
- Provide general squad administration and communication for Junior Development, and State Squads in line with College’s teaching and learning standards and expectations.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience coaching State level or higher squads/swimmers.
- Knowledge and experience regarding planning and developing junior and/or age group squad programs focused on skills, technique, physiology and long-term development.
- Proven ability to develop successful junior and age group swimmers.
- Proven ability to work as a constructive member of a team with a professional, courteous manner.
- Minimum Swim Coaches and Teachers Association (SCTA) Advanced Coach accreditation.
- Current Swim Coaches and Teachers Association (SCTA) membership.
- Current First Aid qualification (including CPR).
- Current Pool Lifeguard qualification.
- Experience coaching National, age or open squads/swimmers.
- Knowledge and experience regarding planning and developing swimmers for performance at a national level.
- Maintain a degree of flexibility in working hours from time to time as required for the position.
- A valid Blue Card, in line with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act .
