Developer APS5
Developers provide technical advice and guidance to less experienced staff while working under the direction of senior staff. They exercise independent judgment within defined parameters, manage competing priorities, and contribute to workplace improvements and business strategies.
Senior Developer APS6
Senior Developers realize designs, prototypes, and testing support, and are responsible for developing and defining software and technical designs. They work under limited direction from senior staff and exercise initiative and judgment in interpreting policies and applying practices. Their decision-making relies heavily on their skills and knowledge. Senior Developers manage their own work amidst competing priorities, contributing to business planning and improvements in workplace practices.
Senior Development Expert EL1
Development Experts engage in the design and the development of high-quality solutions in support of business and technical requirements. The role solves highly complex problems. Development Experts exercise a considerable degree of independence and undertake a technical leadership role, with work performed under the general guidance of senior staff.
Key duties may include, but are not limited to:
Developer APS5
- Conduct analysis, design, software development, prototyping, testing, and maintenance under senior guidance.
- Draft technical documentation for senior review.
- Provide maintenance and support in assigned areas.
- Create software and technical designs for medium-complexity solutions.
- Adhere to high quality standards in software development with limited guidance.
- Offer release support and maintenance for developments.
- Ensure compliance with software development methodologies.
- Assist in project development and delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve production issues.
- Advise colleagues on technical aspects of software support and development.
- Escalate issues and suggest alternative approaches as needed.
- Stay updated on ICT policies and share knowledge with the team.
Senior Developer APS6
- Perform analysis, design, development, prototyping, testing, and maintenance activities.
- Support development teams in creating ICT solutions.
- Analyze technical requirements and propose project solutions.
- Define software and technical designs for complex custom and migration solutions.
- Ensure high quality and standards in software development.
- Provide go-live support and ongoing maintenance.
- Escalate issues and suggest alternative approaches.
- Facilitate innovative solutions for enterprise and user needs.
- Ensure compliance with software development methodologies.
- Offer technical support to senior staff.
- Coach and train team members to develop capabilities.
- Monitor workloads to meet business goals.
- Align work with processes and delivery outcomes.
- Create documentation for senior staff review, including technical reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders for timely project implementation.
- Stay updated on ICT policies and share knowledge with the team.
Senior Development Expert EL1
- Conduct high-level analysis of technical requirements and propose solutions.
- Oversee software development lifecycle: analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance.
- Manage release processes and ensure robust go-live support.
- Mentor and share expertise with less experienced staff.
- Ensure compliance with software development methodologies and quality standards.
- Maintain and support existing systems for daily operations.
- Prepare and review technical and corporate documentation.
- Provide specialist technical advice to senior executives.
- Influence ICT strategy and manage conflicts as needed.
- Promote continuous improvement and resolve escalated issues.
