The role 

MidCoast Council is looking for a dedicated individual to join our ROM (Resource Operations and Management) department within the Infrastructure & Engineering Services Division as a Trainee Electrician. This unique opportunity combines hands-on practical training with formal education, where you will become fully qualified after 4 years. 

In this role, youll gain valuable experience working on real electrical projects while completing a prescribed TAFE course – Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (4 years). This blend of on-the-job training and classroom study will equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in this field.

Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role youll be required to complete a pre-employment basic skills assessment and medical check (medical assessment will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component)

Commencement: Successful Trainees and Apprentices will commence on Tuesday, 28 January .  

Remuneration: You will be paid in accordance with the Traineeship pay scale as outlined in the Local Government (State) Award plus superannuation. 

An allowance of $ per week will also apply. (Trainee Water Allowance)

Location: Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council Water Services Depot located at Taree, Muldoon Street. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region. 

Tenure: Full-time 38 hours per week over a 4 year period. 

Closing date: Monday 7 October at pm.
