Our ASX-listed client is a growing gold development company operating in the Laverton and Menzies regions of Western Australia. They are currently seeking a competent Alternate Underground Manager to support a new underground mine, which has just been launched. 

As an Alternate Underground Manager, you will be responsible for the daily control and supervision of the underground mine, including the camp and surface haulage. This includes coordinating all facets of the underground operations to meet all safety, production, and cost targets. In addition to:

  • Bachelor Mining Engineering or equivalent
  • First Class WA Mine Manager’s certificate of competency
  • Previous narrow vein experience (preferred)
  • Previous experience working under owner-operator highly desirable
  • Ability to work in a small technical team, hands on approach
  • Advanced computer literacy and business software skills; mine planning systems and software (Deswik preferred)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Position Duties:

  • Statutory responsibilities associated with being appointed the Site Senior Executive
  • Implement and monitor mining plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Plan and coordinate site project works
  • Mentoring and training technical team
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and mining regulations
