Public Sector People is recruiting for an A05 Dispute Resolution Officer on behalf of a State Government Department. This role is a temporary position with potential for extension. This role involves analysing and managing complex complaints, maintaining accurate records and assessing/facilitating early resolution and conciliation services.
About the role:
Reporting to the Principal Dispute Resolution Officer, the Dispute Resolution Officer plays a vital role within the dispute resolution team. You will support the team in meeting complaint resolution targets, deliver exceptional customer service by building rapport with all parties involved, engage with diverse communities, and ensure effective electronic record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret legislation and apply knowledge of the Anti-Discrimination Act and Human Rights Act to resolve complaints, using sound judgement and minimising risk.
- Conduct effective dispute resolution processes including conciliation conferences to achieve organisational complaint resolution goals
- Build and maintain effective relationships with diverse complaint parties, colleagues and managers.
- Manage multiple tasks, including administrative and file management tasks, to achieve performance objectives with minimal supervision.
- Clear, confident, adaptable and respectful communication, negotiation and facilitation skills, including the ability to communicate with people in conflict.
About You:
- Previous Government experience in Local, State or Federal Government Desirable
- Previous experience interpreting and applying legislation.
- Self-motivated, highly organised and able to work autonomously under limited supervision or direction.
