About the Opportunity
We are seeking a 2nd or 3rd Year Fitting and Turning Apprentice to join Alltype Engineers at their workshop in Brendale, 20km north of Brisbane CBD.
Alltype Engineers specialise in custom engineering jobs. With over 45 years’ experience, our host strives to establish and maintain long-term relationships with their clients and pride themselves on delivering prompt and quality service.
Reporting to the Director, Workshop and Machine Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for learning all aspects of fitting and turning and contribute to:
- Measuring and marking out materials for manufacture
- Keeping records of maintenance procedures
- Interpreting diagrams, drawings, specifications, and plans to determine suitable material and sequence of operations
- Diagnosing and repairing faults with tools and machinery
- Performing regular maintenance
- Setting up and operating tools and machinery
- General cleaning
- Ensuring health and safety requirements are met
About You
- The desire to learn and a positive attitude
- Honest, hardworking, and reliable
- Attention to detail and basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Thrive working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Previous experience in a workshop environment will be well regarded
- Hold a driver’s licence and reliable vehicle to get to and from work
- Hold a White Card
