Remuneration: Stream A, Level 2-3: $69, – $80, per annum superannuation

Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking a highly skilled Governance Support Officer to assist our newly reformed Governance Team.

In this role you will provide administration support and assistance to ensure the efficient functioning of the Governance section. You will work to achieve and maintain a high standard of Governance Frameworks and legislative compliance through the effective support of administrative and statutory processes ensuring excellence in Governance across all of Councils operations and functions.

In this busy role, you will support the organisation by:

  • Providing professional administration support and assistance in relation to the delivery of governance activities across Council including management of the mailbox.
  • Assisting with the delivery of governance tasks, such as quarterly reporting, right to information and information privacy applications and processing requests for changed delegations.
  • Undertaking various administrative tasks relating to the Audit and Risk Committee.
  • Maintaining delegations and authorisation records and other central registers.
  • Improving governance processes/workflows.
  • Engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Assisting the Manager Governance and Governance Specialist to conduct periodic audits of delegation registers.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:

  • Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence.
  • Well-developed computing, literacy and numeracy skills in an administrative environment, demonstrating attention to detail and a commitment to service standards.
  • Developed skills in managing multiple conflicting priorities, meeting deadlines and exercising discretion and sound professional judgement to ensure high quality service results.
  • Word processing (Microsoft Word) and document production of correspondence, memorandums, spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) and other documents.
