$6 Billion Urea Project to create 2500 jobs

Perdaman has announced the commencement of its A$6 billion Pilbara urea project, which is set to be the first new gas manufacturing project in the Pilbara region in over ten years. The facility, located 20 kilometres north-west of Karratha, Western Australia, will convert natural gas from Woodside’s Scarborough Gas Project into an estimated 2.3 million tonnes of urea per annum.

It is estimated the Perdaman Urea Project will create 2,500 jobs during construction and 200 operational jobs.

A resort-style accommodation to set a new benchmark for FIFO life.

A new standard will be set for fly-in, fly-out living in Australia’s mining and resources industry when Mineral Resources begins construction of two resort-style accommodation villages, changing the culture of FIFO living and encouraging more women and couples to live and work on site.

Onslow Iron project in the Pilbara recently received an order for 750 rooms, each measuring 45 square metres – three times the size of traditional FIFO accommodation.

Construction

New Acland Mine to hire 600 workers

New Hope Group is calling on expressions of interest for roles at New Acland Mine and expressions of interest from businesses for the supply of goods and/or services required at New Acland Mine.

At the peak of construction, there will be close to 600 local workers on site at New Acland Mine.

Throughout the life of the project, the permanent workforce will be approximately 400 full-time roles, made up of Darling Downs locals.

Local businesses can also express their interest in supplying goods
